Affiliate Programme Terms
These Affiliate Programme Terms govern participation in the BioSkepsis Affiliate Programme (the “Programme”). They apply in addition to the BioSkepsis Terms of Service, Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy.
How the Programme is entered into. Submitting an application does not create a partnership. If we accept your application, we will send you a Promotion & Referral Agreement to sign. These Terms describe the Programme and form part of that agreement; the signed agreement is what binds us both. Where the two differ, the signed agreement prevails.
What you get
01| Plan | Standard price | Your audience gets | You earn |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro plan | €75/month or €750/year | 20% off | €2.50 per active referred subscriber, per month |
| Plus plan | €18/month or €180/year | 25% off | €1.00 per active referred subscriber, per month |
We issue you a unique referral link and an exclusive promo code for your audience. You publish both.
The code works on monthly and annual subscriptions, on both the Plus and Pro plans, and the discount applies to the price of whichever plan and billing period the customer chooses.
Commission accrues each month a referred customer is active, for up to 12 consecutive months from the date of their first paid subscription attributed to you. Where a customer pays annually, commission accrues across the months of the subscription period that payment covers, within the same 12-month cap.
The discount applies for the first 12 months of the customer’s subscription — the first 12 monthly billing cycles, or the first annual billing cycle — after which it renews at the standard price. Successive monthly cycles inside that window are not “renewals”: they stay discounted, and they keep earning commission.
The Programme is worldwide
There is no fee to apply and no fee to participate.
Who qualifies as a referred customer
02A referred customer is someone who takes out and pays for a Plus or Pro subscription — monthly or annual — having reached us either by clicking your referral link or by applying your promo code at checkout.
Either signal is enough
You do not need both. This matters on video and audio platforms, where a link often cannot be clicked inside the content itself — the promo code is frequently the only signal we receive, and it is the reason to always publish the code alongside the link.
There is no time limit on the link. We do not apply a cookie window: a click that leads to a paid subscription counts whenever it happens.
There are no restrictions on who may use your code
- Past customers may use it. Someone who has bought from BioSkepsis before is not excluded.
- It may be used more than once by the same person. There is no once-per-user limit.
- It works on monthly and annual plans, on Plus and on Pro.
- Existing free-plan users count. Someone who already has a BioSkepsis account on the free Basic plan and moves onto a paid plan using your code is a referred customer, and earns you commission in the normal way. We track these through promo code usage.
Where both signals are present, the promo code applied at checkout decides attribution. Where no code is applied and there is more than one link click, the most recent click wins.
We determine attribution acting reasonably and in good faith, and will give reasons on request. Our records are the definitive record of clicks, code applications and commission, save for manifest error.
No commission is payable where
- the payment does not go through and we do not receive the money — commission is only ever payable on funds actually received by us;
- the customer does not complete payment, or cancels before the first paid period;
- the subscription is refunded, reversed or charged back;
- the referral arises from spam, misleading advertising, or anything else in breach of these Terms; or
- the subscription is on the Basic (free), Team, Organization or a custom-priced plan, or is a credit, overage or add-on purchase.
Team and Organization referrals
These are outside the standard rates — but they are our highest-value customers, and we do not want you to have no reason to send them. Tell us before you refer a team or institutional buyer and we will agree separate written terms for that referral.
Plan changes and switching between codes
Your commission for each month follows the plan the customer actually paid for on the date of that month’s payment.
You are paid for every paid plan the customer takes through you, whichever they started on. If the same customer uses your Plus code one month and your Pro code the next, you earn the Plus rate for the first month and the Pro rate for the second — you are rewarded for both, and it makes no difference which plan they began with, or which direction they move in.
A plan change does not extend, restart or interrupt the 12-month earning period.
Reporting and payment
03Quarterly statements. Within 15 days of the end of each calendar quarter we send you a statement showing: your total referred customers; their plans; how many months each was active in the quarter; the commission payable; and your link and code activity — clicks recorded, times the code was applied, and resulting sign-ups and paid conversions.
Quarterly invoices. Invoicing runs on the same quarterly cycle as the reporting: alongside each statement we issue you the invoice ourselves, setting out the commission due to you for that quarter. We pay it within 15 days by bank transfer to the account you verify with us, and once the payment has gone out we send you the receipt confirming it.
There is no payout threshold
Whatever is due for a quarter is paid for that quarter, however small the amount — nothing is held back or rolled forward for being under a minimum.
Keep your payment details current with us — a payment we cannot make because the details are wrong or out of date simply carries over to the next run.
VAT and tax. All amounts are exclusive of VAT, which is added where properly chargeable. If you are registered for VAT, tell us and give us your VAT number, so that the document we issue is in the correct form; where you are VAT-registered in an EU member state other than Cyprus, the supply is handled under the reverse-charge rules. By joining the Programme you agree to us issuing these documents on your behalf. You remain responsible for your own taxes and social contributions. We withhold only where the law requires it, and will give you documentation of anything withheld.
Clawback. If a payment that generated commission is later refunded, reversed or charged back — or the commission turns out to have come from activity breaching these Terms — that commission is cancelled. If we have already paid it, we set it off against future commission, or ask for it back within 30 days if no further commission is expected.
Queries. Raise any query about a statement within 60 days of receiving it. We will investigate in good faith and correct manifest errors.
Who can join
04You must be at least 18, or a registered legal entity; not resident in or acting for anyone in a comprehensively sanctioned country, and not on a restricted-party list; and running a channel — site, newsletter, community, social account, podcast, course or consultancy — with an audience genuinely relevant to life-science, biomedical, clinical or scientific research work.
We review every application manually and acceptance is at our discretion. We may ask for verification of your identity or audience figures, and may decline an application we cannot verify. We are not obliged to give reasons.
We decline channels running on paid arbitrage, incentivised traffic, coupon aggregation, cashback or deal directories; channels promoting pseudoscientific health claims, unproven treatments, or supplements carrying therapeutic claims; channels carrying sexual, hateful, violent or unlawful content; and channels whose audience is materially made up of automated or purchased accounts.
Existing BioSkepsis customers are welcome to apply. Your place in the Programme is personal to you — you may not transfer, sell or share your link, code or account, or run more than one account without our consent.
Neither of us is exclusive to the other
05You are free to work with other brands. Nothing in this Programme is exclusive to us. You may take on other partnerships, sponsorships and affiliate arrangements while you work with BioSkepsis, provided they are not with a directly competing product — an AI research assistant, or a literature-search or evidence-synthesis tool aimed at the same audience.
We are equally non-exclusive. We may appoint other affiliates, partners, resellers and agents, run our own campaigns, and promote BioSkepsis directly, in any territory and at any time, without that affecting your commission or your standing in the Programme.
If you are already under an exclusivity obligation to someone else that would conflict with promoting BioSkepsis, tell us before you sign.
Protecting the promo code
06Your promo code carries a real discount — 20% off the Pro plan and 25% off the Plus plan. Where it leaks into places it was not meant for, customers who would have paid full price use it instead, and we carry both the discount and a commission on revenue we would have had anyway. So:
- Do not post the code or link to coupon, voucher, cashback, discount or deal-aggregation sites.
- No automated traffic, incentivised clicks, purchased traffic of unverified origin, click farms or other inauthentic activity.
- No cookie stuffing, forced clicks, pop-unders, auto-redirects, link cloaking, or toolbar or extension injection — nothing that sets attribution without a genuine, informed click.
- Do not interfere with, mask or modify the tracking parameters on your link.
Breach of this section is a material breach
We may suspend your link and code immediately, cancel the commission attributable to it, and reclaim what has been paid.
How you may promote us
07You may promote BioSkepsis through your own site, newsletter, social accounts, podcast, video channel, community, courses, talks and direct communications with your audience.
You may not: send unsolicited bulk email or messaging; bid on “BioSkepsis”, “EFEVRE” or confusingly similar terms, or our domains, in paid search or app-store advertising, or use them in ad copy, headlines or display URLs, without our written consent; register domains, handles or app names using our marks or typo-variants; build anything that could be mistaken for an official BioSkepsis property, or present yourself as our support or sales staff; or promote us alongside unproven medical treatments, supplements bearing therapeutic claims, predatory journals, paper mills, or services offering unauthorised access to paywalled literature.
7.1 Language and subtitles
Promote us in whatever language suits your audience. Where your content carries a voice-over or spoken presentation in a language other than English, it must also carry English subtitles, so that the content remains accessible to the whole of our audience and so that we can review what is being said about the product.
7.2 Claims about the product
BioSkepsis sits in a scientific and health-adjacent field, so these are strict and are treated as material terms. Do not state or imply that:
- BioSkepsis gives medical, clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic or treatment advice, or that its output can be relied on for patient care or clinical decision-making;
- its output is peer-reviewed, is equivalent to or a substitute for reading the primary literature, or has been validated, certified or approved by any regulator, journal, publisher or institution;
- it is guaranteed to be accurate, complete, error-free, or free of omission or hallucination;
- it is endorsed by, affiliated with or officially adopted by any named university, hospital, funder, journal, publisher or company, unless we confirm that specific statement in writing;
- any specific outcome will follow from using it — a publication, grant, degree, approval, job, result, time saving or financial return;
- it can be used to produce work someone then submits as their own unaided work against their institution’s academic-integrity rules, or to get round publisher access controls; or
- it is a regulatory-approved diagnostic product.
Where you show or quote BioSkepsis output, note that outputs should be checked against the cited sources rather than presenting them as verified findings.
Keeping yourself current is your responsibility
The product, its features, its plans and its pricing change. Before you publish anything promoting your link or code, visit bioskepsis.ai and check the product itself, so that every claim you make is true of BioSkepsis as it stands on the day you publish. We will tell you about material changes where we reasonably can, but we do not undertake to notify you before every change, and the duty to verify before posting sits with you.
Any false or fabricated claim is a breach of this agreement, whether it is made deliberately, from an out-of-date understanding of the product, or from not checking. We may require immediate correction or removal, and a false claim is a ground for termination under section 11.
You may use our approved materials, or write your own honest, first-hand account — we give standing consent for original content in your own voice.
7.3 Disclosure
Disclosing that you earn a commission is your responsibility, and so is working out what form that disclosure has to take. Before you post, check the rules of the platform you are posting on and the law that applies where you and your audience are — these differ by platform and by country, they change, and we cannot check them for you.
Where a platform provides a paid-partnership or paid-promotion tool, or requires particular wording, use it. Where a platform imposes no requirement but the law that applies to you does, follow the law. Where both apply, follow whichever is stricter.
Failing to comply with a disclosure requirement that applies to you is a material breach.
7.4 What you say about us
We are not buying praise, and nothing here requires you to pretend the product is perfect. If you hit a limitation, say so — honest, specific, fair criticism is not a breach of these Terms, and we would much rather hear it than not.
But you are a partner, not a random reviewer, and we expect the relationship to run both ways. So:
- Raise problems with us first where you reasonably can. If something is broken or misleading, tell us before you publish. Often we can fix it, and you end up with a more accurate piece.
- Keep criticism factual and constructive. Say what did not work and why.
- Do not publish anything abusive, hateful, or gratuitously disparaging about BioSkepsis, our team or our users, and do not say things about us you know or believe to be untrue. That is not criticism, and it is a ground for termination.
Brand and content
08We grant you a non-exclusive, revocable licence to use our name, logo and approved materials to promote BioSkepsis while you are in the Programme. Do not alter, distort, recolour or combine our logo with other marks.
You keep ownership of what you create. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, quote, link to, embed and share your promotional content, with your name and channel name, to run and promote the Programme — organic use only, for 24 months from publication. Running your content as paid advertising, or paid promotion from your own handle, needs your separate written agreement.
On termination your licence to use our marks ends and you remove them within 14 days, except where removal from archived content is not reasonably practicable.
Data protection
09We are independent controllers — you are not our processor and we are not yours.
We do not send you customer personal data. Your statements are aggregated and do not identify individual customers, and you must not try to identify, contact or re-identify a referred customer from them.
Any personal data you collect while promoting us — newsletter subscribers, for instance — is yours to handle under the GDPR on your own lawful basis and privacy notice.
We process your own data (identity, contact, channel, payment and performance information) to run the Programme, pay you, meet accounting, tax and anti-fraud obligations, and prevent abuse, on the bases of contract performance, legal obligation and our legitimate interests. Details are in our Privacy Notice.
Either of us tells the other within 48 hours of becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting Programme data.
Term and renewal
10The agreement runs for 12 months.
Renewal. It renews automatically for a further 12 months where, in at least one calendar month during the term, the monthly recurring revenue attributable to your referred customers reaches €500. That means the combined monthly subscription revenue, at the discounted prices actually paid, of your referred customers who are active in that month.
The threshold does not have to be met in every month, in any particular month, or cumulatively across the year — one qualifying month at any point in the 12 months is enough. If it is not reached, we may still renew at our discretion; otherwise the agreement simply expires at the end of the term. Either of us may also give 30 days’ notice before the end of a term that we do not wish to renew, whether or not the threshold has been met.
To be clear about what this threshold does
It decides one thing only: whether we roll into a second year. It has no effect on what you earn month to month. Your commission on referred customers is payable in full throughout the term whether or not the threshold is ever reached, and it is never conditional on hitting it.
Suspension and termination
11Termination for convenience. Either of us may terminate at any time on 30 days’ written notice.
We may terminate immediately for material breach that is not remedied within 10 days of notice, for breach of the promo-code integrity rules, for a false claim about the product, for a failure to disclose, for misleading or unethical promotion, or for conduct that in our reasonable opinion seriously damages our reputation.
We may suspend your link and code immediately, without notice, where we reasonably suspect fraud, inauthentic traffic, or a legal, regulatory or reputational risk — and we will tell you promptly why.
On termination: commission already accrued stays payable, and referred customers already inside their 12-month earning period keep earning for the remainder of it, with quarterly reporting and payment continuing as normal. No new referred customers qualify after termination.
Where we terminate for your breach, only the commission attributable to the breaching activity is forfeited. Commission properly earned on unaffected referrals remains payable.
Warranties, indemnity and liability
12You warrant that you have authority to take part, that your application information is true, that you own or are licensed to use your channels, that your content infringes nobody’s rights, and that your activity complies with advertising, consumer protection, data protection, sanctions and tax law.
You indemnify us against losses arising from your breach, your promotional content or methods, your statements about BioSkepsis, and third-party rights claims relating to your content. We indemnify you against any claim that our trademarks or the marketing materials we supply, used as intended and unmodified, infringe someone’s IP rights.
We make no promise about conversion rates, the volume, value or duration of referred subscriptions, the continued availability of any plan or price, or what you will earn. Figures in Programme materials are illustrative, not forecasts.
Neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of anticipated commission. Our total liability to you, however arising, is capped at the greater of the commission paid to you in the preceding 12 months and €500. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
13We may amend these Terms. Material changes — commission rates, the audience discount, attribution or payment terms — get at least 30 days’ notice by email. Commission accrued before a change takes effect is unaffected. If you do not accept a change, terminate before it takes effect; what you have earned stays payable.
Governing law and the rules that apply to you
14This agreement is governed by Cyprus law and applicable EU law, save that if you take part as a consumer you keep the mandatory protections of your home country’s law. Exclusive jurisdiction: the District Court of Larnaca, save that a consumer keeps the right to sue in their own place of residence under Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012.
Your promotional activity is separately subject to:
- the terms of use and advertising policies of every platform you post on — you are responsible for reading them, complying with them, and keeping up with them as they change; and
- the law of the country you are in, and of the countries your audience is in, including advertising, consumer protection, endorsement-disclosure and tax law.
Cyprus law governing this agreement does not displace any of that, and nothing we say here is advice on what those rules require of you. Where any of them conflicts with something in these Terms, tell us — do not simply breach either.
